So now you are probably thinking I have so much to do at this time why should I do this? You could look at it as an addition of work on your part or you can do like I do and look at it as a time to have some quiet reflection time of each principle and how you and/or your family practice that principle.
To me doing actions or volunteering in ways that express the day's Principle is tan important part of Chalica. But it is not the only way to celebrate Chalica.
You can also give gifts that express the day's Principle - See each days for ideas.
Or just talk about the principle of the day with the people you are celebrating with each day.
Or you can read a story or a book about the principle of the day.
Or sing a song that goes with the principle of the day.
Or watch a movies that goes with the principle of the day.
Or ??
Or ??
One young woman wrote that she and her sister like writing things they appreciate and putting them in a bowl and then one by one they pick out the papers and read them out loud. They then sing, dance and blow out the chalice.
So I urge you to join me in becoming part of this living movement!
And let me know how you celebrate this new Tradition.
Thanks to Lisa Schwartz for the chalice lightings.
